    Lower Mainland & Fraser Valley get hammered with rain

    B.C.’s Lower Mainland and Fraser Valley got hammered with rain this week. Chilliwack airport reported 110 mm of rain. The town of Hope, B.C., further east, registered 134 mm of rain. Abbotsford declared a state of emergency and all major highways leading out of Lower Mainland were closed. Many residents will be dealing with flood damage. Read More

    Homeowners sue big oil

    Two Washington state homeowners have filed a federal lawsuit aimed at hold major oil companies responsible for climate-drive increases in their home insurance costs. Homeowners in the state have seen rates rise 51% in 6 years. For one plaintiff, premiums have more than doubled since 2017. The suit seeks class-action status for all homeowners who have purchased insurance after 2017 in Washington. Read More
