What is HonestDoor?

HonestDoor is your free real estate website where you can find all information about a certain property in one place. You will not find a place with more information!

If you are looking to buy, sell or are just curious about real estate, you can search your property on the map view or in the search bar. There will be a diversity of information that you can read to educate you on your decision-making process.

How is HonestDoor unique? What data do you have?

We have sold prices that are unique to our site. We have past sold prices that did not go through a real estate agent. I.E. if you privately sold your home we would have that information. We have sold prices on commercial properties, homes, condos and empty land. Furthermore, we include: assessment history, HonestDoor price, permits, year built, square footage, historical sold prices and market/neighborhood trends.

Do realtors already have this information?

No. We have sold prices that occur even if you didn’t work with a realtor. I.E. if you bought your mother’s home we would have the sold price. We have data on commercial properties that realtors do not have.

Is this the CarFax for homes?

Yes, we have been called that. We have permit history so if there was a flood, fire, cracked foundation or grow-op we would have that data so just check the permit tab!

What is the HonestDoor price?

The HonestDoor price is a free valuation on what we think our house is worth today (excluding commercial properties).

The HonestDoor price is based on recent sales in your neighbourhood and city assessment data, and other key features we have collected. As we receive new information the HonestDoor price will reflect the current trends in your real estate market. We have data science experts for this!

Someone contacted me and wants to view my house what do I do now?

Great! It's just like selling anything else. The best part is you are in charge of your showing. Since you know your house and its’ best features, you are the best person to sell it. Now go tidy and fluff your pillows :) If you’re uncomfortable showing your home by yourself it’s a good idea to have a friend/family/neighbour present and schedule showings during the day.

Someone wants to make me an offer on the house I have never done this?

If you have never completed a purchase agreement it's best to have your lawyer review it before signing. Since every transaction requires the use of a lawyer you may as well use one at this stage. We have lined up pre-negotiated rates for all Honestdoor clients with reputable real estate lawyers. You can certainly use your own lawyer but if you want to use one of ours please click here.. They will answer all of your questions! Once the offer is in the hands of your lawyer you can make sure all the conditions that you want are included. For Example --> you want move out on a certain date or you want to keep your washer and dryer.
